Description

Drafting is a highly refined form of drawing used to communicate ideas to engineers, architects, and craftspeople. In earning this badge, Scouts learn the importance of accuracy and simplicity in developing a drawing that shows precise details in a simple format.

Prerequisites

Read and Study the Drafting Merit Badge Pamphlet:

Print out a workbook and start filling it out.
Download and install QCAD (free open source) for your type of computer.  https://www.qcad.org/en/  then start it up and   remove the QCAD Professional add-on running in trial mode (click Remove in the Trial widget and follow on screen instructions).

The Workbook covers Requirement 1(a) (an analog sheet and a digital sheet), Requirement 1(b) (I've added a Lettering Guide to help practice with),  2(a) the architectural sketch, and 3(b) a 3D widget drawn in 2D.  Requirement 4 is to be done after the MBC has seen the scout's project and mark up a drawing.
